Dress Refashion: Floral Top

Another refashion for Refashion Co-op.I made this top from a dress that I thought I could fit into, but turned out to be a bit too tight for my liking. It was one of those dresses labelled as "no trying" in the clearance corner, and though knowing it might or might not fit, I bought it anyway because I love the fabric and its lovely floral prints.

So, since it didn't fit me well, I decided to give it a whole new look.
I took the bubbly chiffon top I made last year for an inspiration.

I cut the skirt from the bodice but I left the nice hem intact, and cut a slanting line for the armsyce (the armholes).

As for the neckline, I used a black linen fabric from my stash, and cut four pieces of a deep-u to give it a thicker texture.

Attaching the bodice to the neckline..

Here's how the top looks like. It looks great with skinny black jeans.Love it! :)

There are dresses you're not allowed to try on? How funny! Cute remake. :)
